The Sense of Place consists is a home for knowledge, innovation, science to bring about improvement within our local communities, through participation, and practices which foster a sharing and sustainable culture.

One of the great advantages about having online communities is that they can help create a sense of companionship for many people in business who sometimes can find it difficult to find a partner in their local community or work place. Since it is so important to share ones life with a companion, but in many instances people avoid getting involved with others who they work with.

The group is working on a digitisation project to create an internet bank of learning resources offering access to the culture, heritage and diversity of the region.

Each partner will provide an exciting insight into the collections within their individual organisations, contributing to a 'Sense of Place' for the region. These will contain images of archives, artefacts and printed sources will soon be added to the portal.

This project is funded by the Old Opportunities Fund with matched funding from the consortium.
